Synopsis

Once a successful journalist, the protagonist’s career hit a wall as talented younger colleagues rapidly took over his spot, leading to his eventual demotion. Desperate to catch a big scoop and reclaim his former glory, he packs his bag while eating a cold lunchbox—a bitter reflection of his current life. Just as he prepares to step out, a mysterious email arrives in his inbox:

Clutching at straws, the protagonist grabs a single camera and heads straight to the reported inn. Located deep in the mountains and missing from standard maps, he barely manages to find his way by asking the few locals he encounters. Standing before him is a dilapidated building with a creaky, falling sign that reads "Paradise Inn."

Smelling stale dust and sensing an eerie atmosphere, every instinct tells him to turn back. However, remembering the sneering faces of his junior colleagues, he swallows his fear, takes a deep breath, and opens the door to seize a scoop that will prove them all wrong.

After waiting for a long time at a completely deserted front desk, he discovers a letter left behind for him:

Years of journalistic instinct tingle. A big story is hiding here. Driven by a mix of dread and intense curiosity from the innkeeper’s letter and the bizarre vibe surrounding the place, the protagonist decides to accept the innkeeper’s request.

Key Gameplay Features

Paradise Inn is an anomaly-inspection horror survival game where players must survive for 7 consecutive days from 22:00 to 06:00 while strictly following work rules.

• Work Rules (Rule-Based Anomaly Horror)

  • Follow specific guidelines based on "Rules Horror" (Napolitan ghost story tropes) to cope with guests' abnormal behaviors and strange phenomena throughout the hotel.
  • Example Rule: "Conduct a night patrol at 02:00. While walking down the stairs to the 3rd floor, if the 2nd floor does not appear and you seem stuck on the same floor continuously, turn around and run back upstairs immediately."

• Anomalies & Traps

  • Watch out for unsettling, bizarre phenomena taking place around the hotel.
  • Analyze clues—such as counting staircase steps or checking environmental anomalies specified in your rulebook—to avoid hidden traps that hinder your progress. Interlinked with the Achievement System.

• Guest Anomalies & Time-Limited Missions

  • Randomly appearing guests will present complaints and demands that must be resolved to survive the night.
  • Failing to satisfy a guest within the time limit or ignoring them entirely will lead to an instant Game Over.

• Inn Satisfaction & Dynamic Difficulty

  • Completing daily tasks increases the Inn's Satisfaction level, which reduces the spawn frequency of dangerous guests.
  • Difficulty ramps up with each passing night. Managing your duties efficiently while adhering strictly to the rules is key to reaching the True Ending on Day 7.
